‘Stop Requested’ live in Baker City

Friday, Aug. 29
Churchill School Arts Center
3451 Broadway St., Baker City

Join Lillian Karabaic from OPB’s “Stop Requested” series for a live discussion about the joys and challenges of rural transit.

Public transit is an essential lifeline for people in rural communities. In “Stop Requested”, Lillian and her co-producer Prakruti Bhatt spent 14 days riding 38 buses to some of Oregon’s most remote places and talking to riders and drivers. If you’re used to transit that runs consistently, how about a bus that only runs once a week? Lillian will dive deep into rural transit, asking questions like, “what lessons can we learn from rural transit about meeting riders where they are and getting creative with service?”
